The Full Story

The Longest Forty Production Co. and partners Events 105 announced a very special evening with Global Footballing Superstar Claudio Caniggia.

The 50 times capped Argentinian internationalist – and former striking partner of Diego Maradona – came back to Dundee for one-night-only to discuss his World Cup heroics, that goal against Brazil, his time in Italian football, being offered the chance to return to the national team at 43 years of age, and of course, his time at Dens Park -  a move which stunned the world of football - with renowned Dundee-supporting journalists Patrick Barclay and Alan Patullo.

Caniggia’s arrival stunned Scottish football and attracted international media attention. Although 33 years old when he signed for Ivano Bonetti’s Dundee in September 2000, a debut goal at Pittodrie proved there was no doubt that he would still be a star of the Scottish game. Despite being at Dens for less than a season, Caniggia would be idolised forever by the Dundee supporters, and was inducted in to the Club's Hall of Fame in 2009.

Hosted by broadcaster David Tanner, it was an event not to be missed for any Dark Blues in the City!
